Easter with Purpose: Our Visit to Covenant Orphanage, Ipetumodu

A Visit to the Orphanage home

When Joy meets purpose: Praise and Worship

Let me tell you about something wonderful that happened on Monday, April 21st, 2025

Christian Food Aid visited the Covenant Orphanage and Welfare Centre in Ipetumodu, Osun State, on Easter Monday, and it was an awesome experience. It was a mission deeply rooted in love, compassion, and the message of Christ’s resurrection.

The journey itself felt purposeful. We were welcomed with warm smiles and open arms. Honestly, that welcome alone set the tone for the entire day.

We started with praise and worship, and oh, it was full of life! The kids were singing, clapping, dancing, and our team joined right in. It was not just music; it was joy overflowing. You could feel God’s presence all around.

Heart Awakened: The unforgettable moments souls said YES to Jesus

Dr. Arije, our director, shared a short but deep message about the love of God and the meaning of Easter, Jesus’ sacrifice, and resurrection. And let me tell you, it hit home!

It was a reminder that no matter what anyone’s facing, hope is still alive because of Christ.

Then came a moment I will never forget… A call was made for anyone who wanted to give their life to Jesus. Some of the children raised their hands! It was so touching.

Our director led them in a prayer of salvation, and we covered them with words of faith and hope. We believe heaven was rejoicing.

Gifts of love: Feeding bodies and bellies

Of course, we did not go empty-handed. We took food items and essential supplies and handed everything over to the orphanage management.

It felt good to know that these children would be cared for not just spiritually but physically too.

What touched us the most was the gratitude from the staff. They kept saying how much the visit meant to them…the prayers, the encouragement, the love. And honestly, that is what it’s all about. Just showing up with love can make all the difference.

This outreach reminded us once again: our mission is that “no one should go to bed hungry tonight.”
